This year’s event will feature an unforgettable Car Cruise, Car Show, and Benefit Dinner! The City of Long Beach proudly presents the 38th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade and Celebration, a family-friendly event honoring the life, legacy and values of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The event will take place Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, in Central Long Beach. The festivities will begin with the parade kickoff at 10 a.m. at the intersection of Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue and Anaheim Street, followed by the park celebration from noon to 5 p.m. at Martin Luther King Jr. Park. The park celebration will include a main stage with live entertainment, a kid zone, food and merchandise vendors, and more.

The Golden Dragon Parade stands as the crowning highlight of the Chinese New Year celebration in Southern California. With a rich history spanning over a century, it draws more than 80,000 spectators lining the parade route, while thousands more watch the event via broadcast. The parade showcases a vibrant procession featuring government officials, celebrities, and dignitaries, alongside numerous high school bands, drill teams, dragon and lion dancers, and a diverse array of performers.
